Instead of purchasing standard industrial components from the market, QIQU develops its own propulsion system specifically for commercial bumper boats.

Our 24V 600W brushless motor uses pure copper windings and is designed to withstand repeated acceleration, sudden stops, and continuous impact cycles commonly experienced during commercial operation.

We also developed a proprietary steering transmission system that helps maintain responsive steering after collisions.

Unlike simple rudder structures commonly found on many bumper boats, our design improves directional control during repeated impacts without exposing internal engineering details.

Additional upgrades—including waterproof displays, steel control handles, and optional physical key-start systems—were introduced after real customer feedback, further improving long-term operational reliability.

Materials Matter More Than Appearance

Not all PE is the same.

Material selection determines how equipment performs years after installation—not simply how it looks when it leaves the factory.

Our hulls are manufactured using imported industrial polyethylene combined with our proprietary modification formulation.

The material system incorporates advanced UV stabilizers, anti-oxidation additives, impact modifiers, and weather-resistant compounds to improve long-term outdoor performance.

The protective collar uses 0.9 mm reinforced PVC supplied by Sijia, one of China's leading technical PVC manufacturers.

Minimum Water Depth

Minimum operating water depth: 60 cm (24 inches).

As long as the water depth reaches approximately 24 in (60 cm) and the bottom is reasonably free of large obstacles, the bumper boats can operate normally.

Saltwater Applications

For marine environments, we recommend selecting the 316 stainless steel motor housing option.

Compared with standard freshwater configurations, marine-grade components provide significantly better resistance to salt corrosion and extend service life in coastal applications.

Important Operating Guidelines

Every commercial attraction performs best when operated under the right conditions. Most unexpected downtime is caused by the operating environment rather than the equipment itself.

Keep the Water Surface Clean

Avoid operating in water heavily covered with weeds, fishing lines, ropes or floating debris.

Even the highest-quality underwater motor can overheat if the propeller becomes wrapped by vegetation or foreign objects.

Protect the PVC Protective Collar

Our bumper boats use 0.9 mm commercial-grade reinforced PVC designed for long-term park operation.

However, like any inflatable structure, it should be kept away from exposed sharp metal edges, broken concrete, rebar or other puncture hazards.

Adult Supervision

Children under 14 years old should always ride with a responsible adult.

This helps ensure safe operation and improves the overall visitor experience.

Life Jackets

All riders should wear properly fitted life jackets during operation in accordance with local safety requirements.

Severe Weather

Suspend operation during thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds or other severe weather conditions.

Self-Draining Hull Design

Unlike many traditional bumper boats, our hull includes an integrated self-drainage system.

Rainwater entering the cockpit is discharged automatically through the drainage channel, reducing manual maintenance and eliminating the need for operators to pump accumulated rainwater after rainfall.

This helps minimize labor while returning the attraction to service more quickly.

Fiberglass has been the mainstream material for commercial bumper boats for many years, and it is still suitable for certain applications. In fact, QIQU also manufactured fiberglass bumper boats before developing our current PE models. Our decision to move away from fiberglass was not based on appearance—it came from long-term commercial operation. As projects accumulated, operators reported that repeated impacts, transportation, and outdoor exposure gradually led to cosmetic cracking and increasingly frequent repairs. Although fiberglass can usually be repaired, every repair takes time, labor, and often requires taking the boat out of service. Instead of continuing to improve fiberglass, we redesigned the hull around rotationally molded PE using imported polyethylene combined with our own modification system. The goal was straightforward: reduce maintenance, improve long-term durability, and allow operators to spend more time running attractions instead of repairing equipment. Every material has advantages and limitations. We encourage customers to compare different boats side by side—including ours—before making a decision. For commercial operation, we believe long-term operating cost is often more important than the initial purchase price.
Both brushed and brushless motors are widely used in industry. The difference becomes much more noticeable in commercial bumper boats because the operating conditions are very different from ordinary industrial equipment. Unlike machines that run at a relatively constant speed, bumper boats repeatedly accelerate, collide, stop suddenly, reverse, and accelerate again throughout the day. These continuous load changes increase wear on carbon brushes inside brushed motors. Replacing carbon brushes is inexpensive—the brushes themselves often cost only a few US dollars. However, replacing them usually requires lifting the entire boat out of the water, which may involve crane rental, technician labor, transportation of lifting equipment, and temporary interruption of operation. These indirect costs are often much higher than the price of the brushes themselves. For this reason, we developed our own 24V/600W brushless propulsion system using 100% copper windings. The objective was not to make the boat more powerful, but to reduce routine maintenance and improve long-term operational reliability.
There is no single answer because operating time depends on passenger weight, driving style, wind conditions, water conditions, and how frequently the water cannon is used. For most commercial parks, our standard dual 12V 90Ah lead-acid battery configuration typically provides around 4–6 hours of continuous operation. Many operators simply prepare a second battery set and rotate them during busy periods. For parks that operate longer hours or experience consistently high visitor volume, we also offer our own lithium battery system using new EVE LiFePO₄ cells with capacities of 150Ah, 170Ah, or 200Ah. Depending on configuration and operating conditions, runtime can exceed 10 hours. Rather than recommending the most expensive option, we usually suggest selecting the battery configuration based on your expected daily operating schedule.
The seating capacity was determined during the earliest stages of product development. When designing the hull, we were not asking how many people could physically fit inside the boat. We asked how families actually use amusement attractions. Our observation was simple: many visitors arrive as families. If a boat only accommodates one adult and one child comfortably, another family member may have to remain on shore. After multiple design revisions and mold modifications, we settled on the current hull dimensions to comfortably accommodate two adults or one adult with two children within the rated payload. This layout improves comfort for guests while giving operators greater flexibility in how they sell tickets.
Most bumper boats use a relatively simple steering structure where the steering wheel is directly connected to a rudder. This works well under normal navigation. However, commercial bumper boats spend much of their operating time colliding with other boats. During these impacts, momentum, water resistance, and sudden changes in direction can briefly reduce steering effectiveness. Some operators have reported that boats may temporarily spin before directional control is fully restored. To improve the driving experience, we developed our own linked steering transmission system after repeated engineering revisions. We do not publicly disclose its detailed structure because it represents years of engineering work. What we can say is that our objective has always been the same: help riders regain steering control more smoothly after collisions and reduce complaints caused by inconsistent handling.
Yes. Both options are available because different parks operate under different conditions. The water cannon is generally preferred during warmer seasons and draws water directly from the operating lake or pond through a filtered pump system. The bubble blaster was developed later after some operators requested a dry-play alternative for cooler weather. Instead of spraying water, it creates large volumes of bubbles, making the attraction suitable for spring and autumn while allowing visitors to stay dry. Although the modules can be replaced, changing between them requires mechanical and electrical knowledge. For most customers, we recommend selecting the preferred configuration before delivery unless their maintenance team is comfortable performing equipment modifications.
No commercial amusement equipment is completely maintenance-free. Routine inspection is still necessary. Operators should regularly check battery condition, fasteners, electrical connections, PVC collar pressure, steering components, and general cleanliness of the propulsion area. One important requirement is keeping weeds, fishing lines, and floating debris away from the propeller, especially in natural lakes or ponds. Like any commercial equipment, preventive maintenance is always easier and less expensive than emergency repairs. Our engineering philosophy has never been to eliminate maintenance completely. It is to reduce unnecessary maintenance wherever practical.
We do not consider a product finished once it leaves the factory. Many of the improvements in our current bumper boat came directly from commercial operators rather than from internal meetings. For example, early customers helped us identify improvements to the water cannon handle, waterproof display panel, electrical system, and starting method. These changes were gradually incorporated into later production. We also operate our own amusement park, which gives us an additional opportunity to observe how visitors interact with attractions and how operators manage them on a daily basis. Engineering decisions are therefore based on three sources: our own manufacturing experience, feedback from commercial operators, and real-world observation of amusement park operation. Continuous improvement is part of our development process, not a marketing slogan.
